Zooey reblogged her own quote that was originally posted on her Twitter. This quote resonates with people because it lays out an issue without overtly mentioning it.
The real issue being laid out is that people are tired of the negativity that is being imposed on them by those who wish to bring them to their level.
These people wish to incorporate you into their world view rather than let your life take its course. It begins with the tone of their voice, their presence, etc. The cycle continues because you let them get to you.
What is needed is not a massive shift in political or economic matters, but rather a shift in the emotions and the minds of each and every individual person.
